Eastern Partnership Youth Conference 2018: “Youth for Entrepreneurship” – deadline for applications from EU, Russia and Turkey is 1 September 2018

The Eastern Partnership Youth Conference 2018: “Youth for Entrepreneurship” will bring +130 participants – including 90 young entrepreneurs, in one place to develop new skills, ideas and solutions to shared challenges. The Conference is organised by the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum (EaP CSF) on 8-9 November in Vienna, Austria – with the support of the Austrian Presidency of the Council of the European Union 2018 and Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) Regional Office “Dialogue Eastern Europe”.

This opportunity is open to young people, between 18-30 – coming from the Eastern Partnership countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine, as well as the European Union, Russia and Turkey, who are looking to start a social or business enterprise in their own, widely defined communities. Applications will be reviewed on the formal selection criteria, as well as answers to the online form.

The European Union promotes entrepreneurship as a key competence that can boost competitiveness and growth, with added emphasis on education and skills. Increasingly, entrepreneurship and self-employment are seen as pathways for young people to advance their careers and come out of unemployment.

The idea of the Conference came from EaP CSF’s previous work and commitments, especially EaP Platform 4 “Mobility and People to People Contacts” and Deliverable 18 of the EaP 20 Deliverables for 2020. It will be the second Eastern Partnership Youth Conference after “Youth for Rights” in 2016, which took place in Bratislava, Slovakia. It was also organised by EaP CSF, with the support from the Slovak Presidency in the Council of the European Union and European Commission. The Conference brought together 145 young human rights activists from the Eastern Partnership countries, Russia, Turkey and the EU.

The deadline for applications from the European Union, Russia and Turkey is 1 September 2018.
