2022 Fellowships: Meet our EaP Fellows!

The 7th Call for Applications for the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Fellowship Programme was launched in Autumn 2022. We received 145 applications from the six EaP countries and selected 16 new Fellows who joined the network.

The EU-funded EaP Civil Society Facility Project has administered the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Fellowship programme since 2017. To-date, with a new cohort of Fellows selected, the Fellowship alumni has a total of 147 Fellows from across the six countries of the EaP. Details about the Fellows 2017-2022 and their activities.

Male Advocates Acting for Gender Equality

Fellowship Summary: Educating 15 young males from 4 cities of Azerbaijan to increase their awareness on gender inequality issues and take action towards it. The action also envisions small solidarity actions addressing local gender issues to be initiated by the trainees in alliance with girls and women in Azerbaijan.

Fellowship Summary: Raising public awareness and acceptance of youngsters with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in 3 cities of Georgia (Tbilisi, Kutaisi, and Batumi) through art (mural painting), public discussion and media coverage.

Restoration of de-occupied territories: interaction of ecologists, artists, urbanists, journalists and local communities

Fellowship Summary: Creating and promoting recommendations for restoration of de-occupied territories based on real-life examples (from Irpin, Chernihiv, Kherson) and in consultations with experts and stakeholders (ecologists, artists, urbanists, journalists, representatives of local communities, etc.)

“Youth in action”: A series of project management trainings for young people

Fellowship Summary: A series of project management trainings for 80 young people from 4 regions to increase their knowledge in the field of project management and public sector management. The produced thematic educational materials (a project management guide, video lectures) will be shared with relevant stakeholders.

Active Citizen – The Key Pillar of Local Democracy

Fellowship Summary: Research on citizens’ participation mechanisms in Shida Kartli region, and their promotion among the local residents, with the focus on active young leaders.

The Meaningful Participation in Community Decision-making Processes of People Living in Group Homes in Armenia

Fellowship Summary: Research and recommendations on the development of practices for people with mental health problems living in group homes to be included in the community decision-making process.

“MentorUkraine”: Mentorship program for Ukrainian youth

Fellowship Summary: Mentoring programme to connect young Ukrainians (mentees) with students from unvesities abroad (mentors) to help them with personal development. Mentors
help Ukrainians to apply to universities, write personal statements and CVs, support moving abroad during the war, and overcome the language barrier.

Fellowship Summary: Developing energy poverty assessment guidelines and policy recommendations to facilitate the energy poverty debates and informed decision-making process in Georgia.

Barriers to Higher and Professional Education for the Youth of Ethnically Non-dominant Groups in Georgia

Fellowship Summary: Advocating for better education for ethnic minority youth in Georgia, by identifying and addressing the issues that cause Azerbaijani and Armenian youth in Samtkhe-Javakheti and Kvemo Kartli regions to drop out/not complete higher education.

Fellowship Summary: Developing rural communities in Qabala and Ismayilli by building the skills of local young people in soft skills, project management, and peacebuilding, and supporting them with designing and implementing local initiatives to address community needs.

Easy-Peasy Economics – Community Strengthening of Young Economists

Fellowship Summary: Developing and strengthening the community of young Azeri economists-activists, by building their skills in leadership, civic engagement and civic values; these activists will work to raise the economic awareness of general population in Azerbaijan.

Development of Chatbots Construction Platform for Local Communities

Fellowship Summary: Create and launch a digital solution that facilitates citizens in Ukraine to report and/or complain to local authorities in a formally documented manner.

Empowering Rural Women in Shamkir

Fellowship Summary: Educating young women in Shamkir region in women’s rights and gender equality and raising their awareness of their rights. The action also includes the self-defense training classes as an instrument of women empowerment.

“Enroot Resilience” – Assistance Ukrainian youth representatives of CSOs with organization stability

Fellowship Summary: Assisting Ukrainian young activists and youth CSOs with organization development and increasing resilience of their CSOs / initiatives by collecting and sharing best practices, tools and methods used by Ukrainian CSOs / initiatives and proven to be efficient in the current context. The selected tools and methods will be shared through articles, video workshops and a chat bot.

ua.outsider.art – A Concise Guide to Inclusive Art Practices in Ukraine

Fellowship Summary: Research and promotion of inclusive art practices as instrumental in empowering people with disabilities and enhancing local cohesion. Selected CSOs will receive training and production of a practitioners Guide.

Innovating Education: Building Capacity for Advocacy, Policy Analysis, and Cross-Movement Cooperation in Marginalized Communities

Fellowship Summary: Based on good practices from Georgia, build capacity in advocacy and policy analysis for a cohort of civil society activists and youth from marginalized communities in Ukraine to shift from single-issue activism towards coalition-building and transformative work.
